How does your pricing work?
Every job starts with a diagnosis — a fixed service call for electrical ($179) or a flat appliance diagnostic ($95) — and a written estimate. You approve the price before any billable repair continues. General repair is billed hourly ($95/hr, two-hour minimum) or in a capped half- or full-day block ($340 / $620).
What if I decline the repair after the diagnosis?
That’s fine — you owe only the diagnostic or service call, and you keep the written estimate to use whenever you’re ready. There’s no pressure and no obligation to proceed.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — MGS is licensed, insured, and bonded, and electrical work is completed to applicable safety and code standards. We’re glad to confirm credentials before we start.
Do you handle emergencies and after-hours work?
Yes. Emergency and after-hours dispatch starts at $299 and then runs $200/hr. If something is actively unsafe — burning smell, sparking, exposed conductors — cut the breaker if you can do so safely and call us right away.
Which appliances do you repair?
Refrigerators and freezers, washers and dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges and cooktops, built-in microwaves, and garbage disposals, among others. We diagnose for a flat fee and give you an honest repair-or-replace recommendation.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based at 8942 Quioccasin Rd in Richmond, VA and serve Richmond, VA & neighboring states. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–7pm.
How do payments and deposits work?
Request service online and your card is authorized at booking, then captured when the work is scheduled. We also accept ACH and Apple Pay. Packages are reserved with a deposit that applies to the final total, which is confirmed in writing after an on-site assessment.
Do you supply parts?
Yes — parts are itemized on your estimate, and electrical parts supply and equipment rentals are available for related work.
